It’s hard to believe another year has flown by, and here we are in 2025! As we transition into a fresh year, many of us feel the pressure to have everything perfectly planned, goals mapped out, and motivation in full swing. But life often has other plans, doesn’t it?

I’ll be honest—this past holiday season, I had every intention of setting my 2025 goals. I pictured myself reflecting, planning, and starting the year with complete clarity. Instead, between holiday celebrations and feeling under the weather, I found myself behind schedule. I didn’t reach my goal of setting goals.

The Roadblocks That Hold Us Back

Over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed some patterns in my own behavior that I think many of us can relate to. Excuses have crept in. Commitments have slipped. And truthfully, there’s been a sense of boredom—wondering if the small, consistent steps I take are really making a difference.

It’s easy to fall into this trap of thinking that if we’re not making massive leaps, we’re not moving forward. But that simply isn’t true.

The Power of Micro Steps

Here’s what I’ve come to realize (and what I remind myself often): Every small step we take builds toward the bigger picture. Micro steps create momentum. And when we pause or falter, the most important thing is recognizing it, showing ourselves grace, and getting back on track.

Life isn’t about perfection; it’s about persistence. Each time we take action—no matter how small—we’re moving closer to our goals.
