How I Rewrote My Story with Intention
There was a time when I didn’t even realize I was living according to someone else’s script.
Not because anyone handed it to me. But because I watched the world fall apart for someone I loved—and I swore I’d never let that happen to me.

When my father left, I saw my mother’s life unravel. She had relied on him for everything—emotionally, financially, structurally. And when he was gone, so was her sense of self. She was angry. She was depressed. And we were in a dire situation.
As a young girl, watching her struggle deeply shaped my beliefs.
So I made a vow:
Never depend on a man for your survival.
I carried that vow like armor for years.
It gave me strength, independence, and a drive to succeed.
But it also led me down a path that lacked support, balance, and nourishment.
Fast forward—I found myself in a marriage where I had exactly what I thought I wanted: total independence. My husband was barely around, and I raised our daughter mostly on my own. I was solely responsible for our financial well-being.
And one day, it hit me like a lightning bolt:
I created this.
I had built a life based on fear of what I didn’t want.
Not on a vision of what I did want.
That realization changed everything.
It didn’t save the marriage—but it saved me.
I began to shift my thoughts and focus. I reconnected with my true desires—not the ones shaped by past pain or survival instincts, but by my soul. I asked myself:
💫 What do I really want?
💫 What does a life rooted in love and partnership feel like?
💫 Can I be supported and sovereign?
And little by little, I began to embody that vision.
I didn’t just change my mindset—I set clear intentions. And intention is the spark that activates transformation.
Today, I’m in a marriage where we share responsibilities, adventures, and laughter. I still have my independence—but now it exists within a partnership of trust, love, and mutual support. It’s not built from the wounds of the past, but from the intentions I set for my future.
That’s what authenticity looks like for me.
Being able to show up fully, honestly, and joyfully—without hiding, hustling, or holding on to old patterns.
And I believe this is possible for you, too.
