How a Season of Uncertainty Led to Deeper Self-Trust
Following the Nudge: What 22 Sessions Taught Me About Trust
Amidst the unknown, we find the courage to trust the journey and ourselves.
There are seasons in life when everything feels clear.
And there are seasons when you have no idea where you're headed.
The past several months have felt more like the second.
After my hysterectomy, I found myself focused on healing, recovering, and navigating unexpected health challenges. At the same time, I wasn't receiving the clear inspiration that had guided much of my work in the past.
For someone who has built a business by following intuition, inspiration, and the next breadcrumb on the path, that uncertainty felt uncomfortable.
I wasn't sure where my business was going.
I wasn't sure what I was being called to create.
I wasn't sure what was next.
But looking back, I can see that life was still speaking.
Not through certainty.
Through nudges.
The first nudge was to do a card reading for a retreat.
The next was to create a Hero's Journey experience for the 18 women attending that retreat.
Then came another nudge: explore something called Chart Weaving.
There was no business plan attached to it.
No promise that it would become an offering.
No guarantee that it would lead anywhere.
It was simply something I felt curious about.
So I followed it.
And then I practiced.
One session.
Then another.
Then another.
Twenty-two sessions later, I can honestly say that the greatest gift wasn't learning a new modality.
It was discovering a deeper trust in myself.
The Unexpected Lesson
When I started these sessions, I thought I was practicing Chart Weaving.
What I was actually practicing was listening.
Listening to what stood out.
Listening to the symbols.
Listening to the stories emerging through Human Design, Gene Keys, cards, and conversation.
Listening to my intuition.
Again and again, I watched people arrive seeking answers only to discover that the wisdom they needed was already within them.
The session simply gave them space to hear it.
As I witnessed this unfold for others, I realized the same thing was happening for me.
The more I practiced, the more I trusted.
Not because I knew exactly what I was doing.
Not because I could see the destination.
But because each session became another opportunity to trust the next step.
And trust, it turns out, grows through practice.
What Might You Practice 22 Times?
This experience has left me with a question I can't stop asking.
What might happen if you practiced something 22 times?
Not until you mastered it.
Not until you felt confident.
Not until someone gave you permission.
Just 22 opportunities to listen.
22 opportunities to show up.
22 opportunities to trust yourself.
Maybe it's journaling.
Maybe it's meditation.
Maybe it's asking yourself one honest question every morning.
Maybe it's choosing rest.
Maybe it's speaking your truth.
Maybe it's simply pausing before seeking someone else's opinion and asking yourself what you already know.
What might you discover?
Gratitude
None of this happened alone.
I am deeply grateful to the 22 individuals who trusted me enough to explore this work with them. Every session taught me something.
I am grateful to my coach, Julie, who continually encouraged me to trust what was emerging instead of forcing clarity before it arrived.
And I am grateful to my husband, Mike, who supported me through recovery, uncertainty, and the many conversations that accompanied this journey.
Each of them helped me remember that the path doesn't always reveal itself all at once.
Sometimes it unfolds one step at a time.
What Happens When You Follow the Next Nudge?
Chart Weaving Sessions are a personalized journey of reflection and discovery. By weaving together Human Design, Gene Keys, intuitive cards, and conversation, we uncover the themes, strengths, and possibilities ready to emerge in your life.

I booked a Chart Weaving session with Hilarie out of curiosity and a genuine interest in the way she integrates Human Design, Gene Keys, intuition, and conversation.
What I appreciated most was not the information itself, but the quality of reflection she provided. The session did not feel like a traditional chart reading, nor did it feel like someone telling me who I am. Instead, it felt like a thoughtful conversation in which themes already present in my life were reflected back to me through a different lens.
As someone who has spent more than four decades working as a therapist, coach, trainer, and mentor, I was not looking for a breakthrough or a profound new insight. What I received instead was something quieter and, in its own way, very valuable: a mirror.
Hilarie has a natural ability to listen for patterns, ask meaningful questions, and weave together observations in a way that helps you appreciate what is already unfolding in your life. I left the session not with a list of things to change or figure out, but with a greater appreciation for the season I am currently living.
If you are looking for someone who can hold a thoughtful, intuitive, and genuinely human conversation while helping you see your own experience through a fresh lens, I would happily recommend a session with Hilarie.
